The Pretenders Rock the Jersey Shore

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Pretenders recently stopped by The Stone Pony as part of their Relentless Tour. The 20-song set was a deep dive into their catalog, and the sold out crowd sang along with Chrissie Hynde the entire night.

The night included two of their newest songs, “A Love” and “Let the Sun Come In”, which will appear on the band’s upcoming album Relentless. Hynde’s performance was electric and proved that the remaining shows on this limited tour should not be missed.

The Pretenders continue their tour between opening for Guns-N-Roses through mid-September before heading to Europe. They return to the States in October for the Ohana Festival and their last three Relentless Tour dates in California.

Michael is an Asbury Park based photographer of what life puts in front of him. He snuck his camera into a concert for the first time in 2011 when he went to see Soundgarden on their reunion tour. Two of those shots ended up being published in Photofantasm Soundgarden: Nudedragons to King Animal, and he has been bringing his cameras to shows ever since. He relocated to Asbury in 2019 for its rich music and art scenes...and to save on tolls! He is a big supporter of the local music scene and has become well known amongst the bands for his photos. Michael is also a regular vendor at the Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market and can be found selling his prints at a variety of local markets.
