Connor Bracken and the Mother Leeds Band Celebrates Beer Release at Twin Lights Brewing
Connor Bracken and the Mother Leeds Band played an intimate show at Twin Lights Brewing recently for the launch of their Mother Leeds Irish Red Ale. This is the fourth year of their collaboration, and the band couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than performing live at the brewery. Proceeds from the sales of this tasty beverage benefit The Project Matters, who use the money to support music programs and schools in the area. Connor said he knows how hard that first guitar can be to get, and the fact they’re helping kids that need it was “incredibly fulfilling”.
As for the music…it was another signature Mother Leeds performance and they blew the roof off the place. I forget how many of their gigs I’ve seen now, but this version of the band has been at a different level ever since Dee and TJ joined. The sound was loud, raw, and energetic with hair flying everywhere. And the brewery’s setup allowed the fans to be right up on the action, just how Connor likes it as he jumped in amongst them multiple times. The band wanted the show to have a DIY feeling to it, and sourced their equipment and crew from the locals who had been part of the their extended family for years. That included a solid opening set from another great local band, Indigo Sky.
When the music had stopped, I was approached by a mysterious gentleman named Ronnie. He slid me a matchbook saying “you might be worthy” and told me to call the number written inside. Later that night, curiosity got the best of me so I grabbed my phone…and now I am one of them. If you find yourself intrigued, you too can call 201-777-1866. Maybe you’ll find yourself worthy as well.
And as always, be sure to check out these awesome bands wherever you stream your music. Don’t forget to pick up a 4-pack of that delicious Mother Leeds Irish Red Ale to enjoy while you listen.
