Legendary Voice, Intimate Setting: Roger Daltrey at The Keswick

One of music’s most iconic frontmen of all time, Roger Daltrey, kicked off his North American solo tour with a sold-out concert at The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA. The performance was mostly an acoustic set of Roger’s solo works, covers, and naturally, Who favorites. Daltrey has chosen boutique-like venues with intimacy and great acoustics to heighten the listening experience of the audience.

As Daltrey walked onto the stage, waving to the sold-out audience of 1,300, he looked fit and trim in his signature white shirt and jeans. Despite being behind the mic for over 60 years, his voice still maintains the power and intensity that music fans have come to love and respect for decades.

Supporting his vocals was a remarkably talented band: Simon Townshend (guitar), Jody Linscott (percussion), Billy Nicholls (mandolin), Doug Boyle (guitar), Katie Jacoby (violin), John Hogg (bass), Steve Weston (harmonica), Geraint Watkins (keyboards/accordion), and Scott Devours (drums). This astonishing ensemble of musicians was able to preserve the spirit of The Who’s music and bring a crisp approach that fits the nature of the tour.

As a longtime Who fan, it was nice to see an old friend having fun and looking and doing better than ever. Rock on, Roger!
