Frank Turner Brings His Undefeated Tour to New Jersey

Frank Turner kicked off the latest leg of his Undefeated Tour at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ, this past Friday. The English punk and folk singer and his band the Sleeping Souls treated the packed house to a night full of great music and positive vibes. The setlist included songs from his latest album, Undefeated, plus old favorites like “Recovery”, “Girl From the Record Store”, “The Ballad of Me and My Friends”, and “I Still Believe”.

This was my fourth time seeing Turner in concert, and he never disappoints. His crowds are always full of energy and sing along with every word. I definitely recommend catching one of his shows if you get a chance. The Undefeated Tour continues in the US and Canada through the end of September before heading back to Europe.

The night also included a solid set of the reggae and ska inspired sound of Bedouin Soundclash, and a rowdy performance from neo-folk band Bridge City Sinners. Check out both wherever you stream your music.

Michael is an Asbury Park based photographer of what life puts in front of him. He snuck his camera into a concert for the first time in 2011 when he went to see Soundgarden on their reunion tour. Two of those shots ended up being published in Photofantasm Soundgarden: Nudedragons to King Animal, and he has been bringing his cameras to shows ever since. He relocated to Asbury in 2019 for its rich music and art scenes...and to save on tolls! He is a big supporter of the local music scene and has become well known amongst the bands for his photos. Michael is also a regular vendor at the Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market and can be found selling his prints at a variety of local markets.
