Fletcher Returns With Another Electrifying Showcase at Stone Pony Summerstage

NJ is no stranger to break-out superstars and Cari Fletcher better known by her stage name Fletcher has become one of the most noteworthy pop acts of the past few years amassing a tremendously loyal fanbase with her powerful songs of self-worth, heartbreak and acceptance. After several successful international tours, Fletcher returned to her hometown of NJ for a second Fletcher and Friends festival this time with 2 back to back nights at the legendary Stone Pony Summerstage. Night 1 was an exhilarating showcase of Fletcher’s growth as a performer and also featured two equally strong performances by Australian pop star G-Flip and indie rock artist Ari Abdul. Fletcher’s set spanned both her recent album In Search of the Antidote while performing many staples such as “Serial Heartbreaker”, “Guess We lied” and her breakthrough smash “Undrunk”. Her backing band was just as exciting to watch as ever and each member brought tremendous energy and flair to every song. The set’s mix of both large scale anthems and more intimate songs allowed it to feel truly dynamic and Fletcher sounded equally compelling in both settings.

The choice of supporting acts were also very well-chosen, G-Flip whose currently on the festival circuit delivered a truly powerhouse performance that showcased their musical versatility and vibrant stage prescence. Their unique drumming skills were a genuine highlight and her chemistry with her backing band made for some truly exciting moments on stage. Their set was pure aderaline throughout and G-Flip’s message of inclusivity resonated greatly with the audience. Ari Abdul who opened up the show delivered a sultry and atmospheric performance that was engaging and intimate. Abdul’s setup was straightforward but her conviction and soul during each song made for a deeply felt and unique set all while adding a touch of rock and indie with her strong backing band. Both openers contributed greatly to the energy and tone of the show all presenting themselves as notable performers in their own right.

While Fletcher and Friends took place over pride weekend and was celebratory in nature, it’s true message was that of acceptance and inclusion, something that Fletcher herself expressed throughout the night. At times she urged the audience to feel safe here and put aside their troubles and that message felt very present throughout. Ultimately Fletcher’s shows are known for their sense of freedom and on stage she sounded at her most confident, vibrant and in true command of her craft. When it came time for the final song of the night, her hit “Becky’s So Hot”, the energy was at an all time high and the fans were more than captivated in unison. In an era of pop artists emerging rapidly, it can be harder to shine through but with her latest version of Fletcher and Friends, Fletcher has solidified herself as a bona fide talent only getting started. Be sure to follow Fletcher on all social media and streaming platforms to learn more about her upcoming tour and announcements! Be sure to give fellow artists G-Flip and Ari Abdul a follow as well!
