Crowd & Band in Perfect Harmony: Dave Matthews Band @ Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
Dave Matthews Band came to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ, to blow the crowd away. And that they did! Dave’s voice was in prime form, and the band played with brilliant intensity all night. The whole two-hour set was incredible, with constant cheering and their own energy growing stronger with every song.
DMB still draws a large number of dancing, singing fans, many of whom knew each line and sang their hearts out along with the band. The band demonstrated a tightness to their set that was fresh and renewed the energy of so many hits and favorites. Unlike many older bands, Dave Matthews Band offers listeners a new way to experience them – one that only a live experience can deliver.
I really enjoyed seeing the interplay and their intuitive wherewithal to make it fresh each night. Most of these guys have shared the same stage for over 30 years, and rather than just turning in a good show each night, they seem to thrive on making each show better than the last. You don’t get that in many bands starting out, much less a band with 30 years under their belt. One of the best parts of a DMB show is the crowd. With a band that has been around as long and amassed a following like they have, you are bound to have a great audience. This audience did not disappoint, knowing every song and singing along with the band.
