Cage The Elephant and Young The Giant Bring Powerhouse Performances To PNC Arts Center

True rock and roll showmanship knows no bounds and that rang especially true when Cage The Elephant brought their Neon Pill tour to PNC Arts Center along with co-headliner Young The Giant. The band led by frontman Matt Schultz who is currently touring off a sprained ankle showed no signs of slowing down nor did the rest of the band who delivered an electrifying, no holds barred performance that showcased their diverse discography along with their incredible musicality and versatility as well. Right from the gate, Schultz dominated the crowd despite being injured and the band’s production complete with immersive visuals was captivating to behold and enhanced the excitement and intensity on stage. While Cage played a good amount of material off their latest release Neon Pill, they also delivered thrilling renditions of fan favorites such as “Spiderhead”, “Trouble”, along with “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked” and “Halo”. It’s a testament to Cage’s commitment to their live experience that despite the current obstacles they still managed to pour their soul and passion into delivering a captivating show and the fan connection resonated especially great throughout the show.

Young The Giant also proved to be a worthy co-headliner as their set showcased their high-energy and imaginative performance style to truly exciting effect. Frontman Sameer Gahida’s commanding stage prescence highlighted the emotions of the material and the band’s seamless chemistry was maintained to tremendous effect throughout their set. Young The Giant’s set also balanced between harder-edged rock numbers to more dancey upbeat songs with ease and their collective musicianship allowed for many exhilarating moments on stage. As a co-headliner, the challenge is always how to effectively translate your own show against constraints but in Young The Giant’s case, they more than rose to the challenge with an engaging, emotional and genuinely dynamic set! With the combined talent and energy of both Cage The Elephant and Young The Giant, the Neon Pill tour proved to be an exhilarating showcase of pure artistry and both bands delivered genuinely memorable performances that once again highlighted their immense appeal.
