AN EPIC NIGHT WITH TITUS ANDRONICUS AT ASBURY LANES

New Jersey’s own Titus Andronicus recently stopped by Asbury Lanes for an epic night of indie rock down the shore. It was the penultimate show of the 2023 tour in support of their latest LP The Will To Live. Fueled by the passion of lead singer/guitarist Patrick Stickles, the band mixed old and new songs for the ecstatic crowd, and even threw in a cover of Springsteen’s “Glory Days” as an encore.

They were joined by opener Country Westerns, a three-piece band out of Nashville. Their classic rock sound was a great way to open the night. You couldn't help but watch dummer Brian Kotzur, who played with such energy you thought he would drive his kit off the front of the stage. Country Western’s sophomore album Forgive The City drops on April 28 on Fat Possum Records.

Up next for Titus Andronicus is a set on day three of the Schellraiser Festival on June 3 in McGill, Nevada.

Michael is an Asbury Park based photographer of what life puts in front of him. He snuck his camera into a concert for the first time in 2011 when he went to see Soundgarden on their reunion tour. Two of those shots ended up being published in Photofantasm Soundgarden: Nudedragons to King Animal, and he has been bringing his cameras to shows ever since. He relocated to Asbury in 2019 for its rich music and art scenes...and to save on tolls! He is a big supporter of the local music scene and has become well known amongst the bands for his photos. Michael is also a regular vendor at the Asbury Park Punk Rock Flea Market and can be found selling his prints at a variety of local markets.
