Wallows Bring Electrifying Sold-Out Show to Wellmont Theater!

Alt-rock band Wallows have been riding a steady and strong momentum ever since emerging as a project in 2017. On their latest tour, the band had truly hit their stride and they delivered an exhilarating performance at a sold out show at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair NJ. With a catalog that’s significantly expanded since their early days, Wallows had many hits to choose from and thankfully the group covered plenty of ground that night. Recent tracks “Calling After Me” and “She’s An Actress” resonated greatly; as well as older fan favorites such as “Scrawny” and “Remember When” made the cut which satisfied many fans. Frontman Dylan Minette delivered a vibrant stage performance that was consistently exciting to watch and he fed off the eager crowd with style and ease. Credit also to lead guitarist and co-vocalist Braeden Lemasters who also took the lead on a number of songs and brought plenty of energy and flair as well. It was incredible to witness the band’s organic chemistry that shined throughout the night. Wallows exhibited a joy and passion that was purely captivating and their set managed to mix both upbeat and personal songs displaying a notable range.

Also noteworthy was their choice of opener in Deb Never who delivered an emotionally powerful and engaging set. Backed by her band, Deb Never brought soul and sincerity to her performance and her band matched her both energy-wise and musically. While her set was on the shorter side, that didn’t stop Deb Never from building a strong emotional connection with the audience. Overall, Deb Never left a strong impression as not just an opener but a confident and engaging talent all her own with a set that perfectly complemented the evening.

For a band that’s been consistently building their fanbase and sound, where to go next is usually a relevant question. Thankfully in the case of Wallows, their sound has progressed in a fresh and exciting manner and their current “Model and More” tour is an accomplished showcase of their vibrant and well-rounded live show. For both newer and long-time fans, Wallow’s latest tour is a throughly rewarding live experience that comes highly recommended!
