Twenty One Pilots have had quite the career trajectory over the past few years, from playing intimate venues to a a cult following to becoming a sought after arena act. Yet no matter the changes in trajectory, Twenty One Pilots have managed to maintain a tremendously strong connection with their fans and each tour ups the ante in terms of vision and imagination. Their latest Clancy tour is an euphoric, immersive and incredibly ambitious showcase of their latest record while also highlighting their genuine progression as well. The tour has no shortage of exciting and daring visuals and both Tyler Joseph and Josh Dunn’s innate musical chemistry was joyous and consistently exciting to watch. The production value was highly cinematic with Joseph performing on a stage built within the crowd for a handful of songs to navigating through the crowd with a torch to the anthemic sing-along during “Mulberry Street”, there was no shortage of highly memorable moments throughout the set. while a good amount of the setlist was built around their latest release “Clancy”, the setlist also incorporated fan favorites such as the aforementioned “Mulberry Street”, along with “Car Radio”, “Heavydirtysoul” and “Ride” all of which sounded particularly vibrant and dynamic live.

Credit also to their choice of opener, New Zealand Alt-rock band Balu Brigada who won the crowd over with their exubrant and high-energy blend of rock and pop. As an opener, they managed to make their set count with dynamic stage prescene and a winning chemistry that was consistently enjoyable to watch. The band’s mix of genres was impressive musically to watch and the two frontmen who also happen to be brothers played off of each other seamlessly. It can be a hard task for an opener to leave an impression especially during an arena tour but in the case of Balu Brigada, they most certainly did so with their well-rounded, energizing and vibrant set, definitely an act worth keeping an eye out for!
