The Gaslight Anthem Comes Home

August 16, 2024 was a night six years in the making. When The Gaslight Anthem wrapped up a three-night run celebrating the tenth anniversary of The ’59 Sound back in 2018, fans wondered if they would ever return to The Stone Pony Summer Stage. But when the beloved New Jersey rockers reunited two years ago, this show seemed inevitable.

This was my first time seeing The Gaslight Anthem live, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. The sold out crowd on that beautiful summer night was treated to a stellar performance. The band’s set included hits like “45”, “The ‘59 Sound”, and “Great Expectations” plus new songs like “Michigan, 1975” and “Positive Charge”.

The Gaslight Anthem had finally come home. And fans won’t have to wait six years this time since they return to Asbury Park for Day 2 of Sea Hear Now in September.

The night also included solid sets from California punk rockers Joyce Manor and Baltimore’s own Pinkshift.
