PVRIS Showcase New Era With an Electrifying Sold-Out Irving Plaza Show

ALT-pop outfit PVRIS has gone through quite a number of evolutions but despite this, it’s always been anchored by Lynn Gunn’s powerful and passionate songwriting and her equally dynamic live performance as well. With their current tour, supporting most recent album 2023’s Evergreen and new singles such as “Oil and Water” and “Burn The Witch”, Gunn’s current PVRIS tour was an electrifying and impressive showcase of her singular talents while also highlighting her notable progression. With much of the early lineup of PVRIS having moved on, with the exception of Gunn and Bassist Brian McDonald, the two have built upon their signature sound with plenty of flair and intensity and Gunn’s physical and vibrant stage prescence was truly captivating. The setlist was a well built mix of songs both newer and older, with recent material such as “Good Enemy” and “Animal” kicking off the show in exhilarating fashion and the set also included notable fan favorites such as “White Noise” and “Nola 1”. It’s a testament to PVRIS’s enduring appeal that both the familiar and newer tracks resonated equally with fans and Gunn’s consistent passion and energy on stage kept the momentum going seamlessly.

What truly made this latest PVRIS tour a satisfying experience was the sense of community and inclusion Lynn Gunn has fostered and maintained. At it’s core PVRIS’s music is largely about self-acceptance and that message was highlighted to tremendous effect throughout the show. With their high-energy and passionate performance, Lynn Gunn has shown that PVRIS is in no danger of slowing down anytime soon and the Oil and Water tour was an exhilarating showcase of both their notable growth and genuine artistry.
