Light of Day Kicks Off at City Winery NYC

The Light of Day Foundation has been a beacon of hope in the fight against Parkinson’s disease, ALS, and PSP since its inception in 2000. What started as a small, heartfelt birthday gathering has grown into an international music festival, spanning across three continents and raising over $6.5 million to date. The foundation’s core mission remains steadfast: to support those living with these debilitating diseases and to fund research into possible cures and improved treatments.

The annual Light of Day Winterfest shows have become a beloved tradition in the music community, featuring a star-studded roster of performers from Bruce Springsteen to Michael J. Fox. This year’s special week started off with, Songwriters on the River, brought the warmth of that same spirit to the City Winery in New York City. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Hudson River, the intimate round robin performance featured a lineup of acclaimed singer-songwriters, each sharing their songs, stories, and melodies in a stripped-down, personal format. The evening was an unforgettable celebration of music, songwriting, collaboration and unity, to support the ongoing battle against Parkinson's, with a surprise or two from artists like Willie Nile, Joe D'Urso, and Danielia Cotton.
