It’s been a long time coming but after a long wait during the pandemic and a weather related reschedule, Lake Street Dive finally made their way to Asbury Park and graced the Stone Pony Summerstage with a belated North2Shore performance full of joy, passion and soul all while demonstrating why they’re one of the most dynamic and musically skilled acts working today. The band led by powerhouse vocalist Rachel Price brought plenty of showmanship with Price’s powerful and captivating voice owning each and every song with style and flair. The band who have toured for decades at this point, brought their innate and seamless chemistry which never missed a beat and resulted in some truly exhilarating moments on stage. With a discography of several albums including their most recent Good Together, Lake Street Dive seamlessly curated the setlist to include highlights from each of their respective records while also bringing the new material to life with their trademark charisma and exuberance. While the band truly shines as a collective, the set also nicely showcased each member including a welcome solo rendition from keyboardist Akie Bermiss that resonated greatly with the audience.

The momentum of the set was incredibly consistent with Lake Street Dive effortlessly transitioning from upbeat soulful numbers to more intimate acoustic ones without losing any traction, also credit to the band’s genuine connection with their fans which was refreshingly sincere and endearing. For a band that’s been active for as long as they have, Lake Street Dive always manage to make each of their performances feel like a unique performance and their sheer optimism and joy toward performing and making music shows no signs of wavering anytime soon! Judging by the reception toward their first Summerstage performance, Lake Street Dive’s artistry is just as vital and relevant as ever and remain one of the most joyous and accomplished musical acts working today!
